Wobbel Boards - What are they and why do I need one?

Wobbel boards on quite on trend at the moment.

Why? Because they're pretty damn cool - and have hundreds of uses. No, they're not cheap, but as toys go - these are pretty good value when you think about the years of use you'll get out of it.

There are a few different brands out there, but Wobbel is by far our favourite for a number of reasons:

  • Good solid, sturdy quality
  • Gorgeous colours
  • FSC certified wood
  • Natural EKO felt
  • CE certified for use from 0 months (cork option from 3 years)

Each board is made from layers of FSC certified beech (and Bamboo if you go for the latest model), pressed together into a curve shape. There's a lot of wood and craftmanship that goes into these. And they're pretty solid - you average toddler won't be throwing it around any time soon. The boards are available with or without Eko felt, but we prefer the felt option at it protects the board and your floors - so that's what we usually stock (plus the felt colour really adds a burst of colour).

Wobbel Board Little Nutkins

The Wobbel board will take up to 200kg of weight - which means it can be used from the smallest children to pretty bulky adults. So when they're not around, it's all yours for the taking.

'But what does it do?' I hear you ask?

Let's talk about the obvious use first - rocking. Yep your child (or you) can stand on the board to rock from side to side. It's pretty fun, and uses muscles you didn't know you had (or maybe that's just me).

Youngsters can also sit on it, lie on it, walk on it, use it as a step - and they're just the practical uses. It can be used for exercising and stretching (yoga fans love it). In terms of play, it can also be a bridge, cave, ramp, slide, road, boat, jump ramp (for toys only please), football goal, wall, or whatever you want. Seriously, with  bit of imagination the Wobbel board can be anything you want it to be.

How many other toys can say they exercise your child's body and imagination at the same time?

There's more styles than ever available for the boards now - we've chosen new Bamboo, the dramatic storm grey 'Thunder' edition, vibrant 'Sky' blue version and of course original Beech. Stock may change, so keep an eye out for what we've got in store.

We love the Wobbel - not just because it's super cool and has a billion uses - but because it also looks amazing and will fit into any home - no matter how uber-stylish you are.
