This week has been a productive one at Little Nutkins, but also lots of fun. I’ve had the opportunity to meet new people and to show off our little store – two things I love to do!
Monday was the first day of our Retailer of the Week slot over at Junior Style. We’re really pleased to be collaborating with them as they act as a platform for some amazing independent retailers, like ourselves (!), as well as showcasing some fabulous brands.

Tuesday has long been considered the dullest weekday, for me. Not the fresh start to the week but not the middle yet either…just Tuesday. But this particular one began better than most, by attending the first meeting of the Mamas Collective – a brand new group hosting mama meetups, workshops & events.

There were some ultra-savvy, super-cool mamas in attendance and some pretty cute babes too! It’s nice to meet new ladies who adore motherhood but are also looking for new and exciting ways to use their skills and awesomeness! It’s also a relief sometimes to discover that you are still able to hold an actual, proper conversation which doesn’t involve discussing the latest Topsy & Tim storyline or repeatedly asking whether somebody needs the toilet.

I look forward to seeing how the collective develops and to the next meet-up. There were some great ideas flying round for potential future events and workshops, all aimed at providing support, encouragement – even a bit of the elusive ‘me time’ – to fab ladies with young children. The meet-up was held in Manchester’s Northern Quarter at Zieferblat – my first time here. It’s a large, welcoming venue which aims to be a place where visitors can do as they please in a homely environment, paying for nothing more than the time they spend at the venue on a per minute basis. Guests are encouraged to visit in order to work, study, relax, attend events, eat cake and have a brew….the last two on that list are certainly a priority for me! To find out more about this venue and their unique ethos, you can find them here.
This week has also seen us feature in the Wholesale Spotlight over at Little Green Radicals, one of our favourite brands. Find me chatting here in a short Q&A discussing organic & fairtrade children’s clothing and what I love about LGR!

And finally this week, we will be taking part in Small Business Saturday on 5th December. This is a UK-wide, grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to shop small.

We will be taking part by offering customers to our business a 20% discount on everything in store by quoting LNSBS20 at the checkout!
